This week in Academic Enrichment, we will shift our focus to working on English and Language Arts (ELA) in preparation for the fast approaching CRCT’s. Our math coverage over the prior weeks proved beneficial and our young people seemed to ignite as they became more and more comfortable with the work. We will try to ignite the same fire for ELA over the next couple of weeks, while at the same time, keeping concepts fresh in their minds. There’s always more work to be done, but as we know, only practice makes perfect!
I am also busy, busy, with interviewing the young people for completion of their IAP’s. This is the biggest part of the process since I have to sit down with each young person and talk with them about each core subject, and work with them to set attainable goals for each subject. It has been difficult to carve out time in the day since our young people’s school schedules are already action-packed everyday, but we are slowly, but surely getting through them. Please bear with me, and regard the time taken as time well spent to gain the best all around snapshot of each young person’s academic strengths, weaknesses & goals. The finish line is in sight and we thank you for your patience!
